The Northern Field
Nine varieties of Canadian lentils in trade sacks, graded tight and papered for the India run.
Canadian lentils — nine varieties, from whole red to black beluga — cleaned and graded to moisture at or under 14% and foreign matter at or under 1%, packed in white matte woven polypropylene sacks of 25 and 50 kilos, each variety under its own bold colour stripe. The sacks are the trade's standard dress: tear-strong, stack-true, and readable across a warehouse floor.
Each container carries its CFIA phytosanitary certificate and fumigation certificate alongside the commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin. Because India's import duty on lentils can move, every contract on this lane carries a duty-change clause — the price stays honest about the day it was written.
Sold CFR to Nhava Sheva, with Mundra and Kolkata served on the same terms. India applies a 10% total duty on the lane at the time of writing; the duty-change clause keeps both sides whole if it moves mid-voyage. Volumes and the price for the season are issued against a Letter of Intent.
